King Charles III of Britain is set to travel to France next month to participate in ceremonies commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Despite ongoing treatment for cancer, the king and Queen Camilla are expected to attend a ceremony at the British Normandy Memorial at Ver-sur-Mer on June 6, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace.

While King Charles III will be present at the British ceremony, he will not be attending the larger international event at Omaha Beach near Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer. Instead, the Prince of Wales will represent the king at the international ceremony, where he will join heads of state and veterans from various countries to mark the historic anniversary.

Additionally, Prince William is scheduled to attend the Canadian event at the Juno Beach Centre in Courseulles-sur-Mer. However, the Princess of Wales, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, is not expected to be in attendance.

Following his cancer diagnosis, King Charles III took a three-month break from public duties to focus on his treatment. His return to public engagements began with a visit to a cancer treatment center in London on May 1, marking his first formal public appearance since February 6 when his diagnosis was announced.

Although the king's doctors have expressed optimism about his progress, he continues to receive treatment, and his schedule will be adjusted as necessary to support his recovery, according to the palace.
